I drive a 2010 Buick LaCrosse CX v6 with 123,000 miles on it recently the check engine light came on and i scanned it with a code reader and came up with the code p0420 “catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1)” but there are no signs of leaks and damage from the cat itself the only thing thats it doing is that there is a delay on the acceleration and eating up my gas fast i bought the car used about 4 weeks ago n it started doing on the 2nd week could it be that its needs a tune up cause idk when was the last time the previous owner did it.need help ):
we'll start with the tune up also check fuel injection system for internal leaks because if it uses a lot of gas and runs rich that will destroy the catalytic converter and trip that code
Catalytic convertors are ruined. Have to fix air/fuel ratio problem before replacing.
