Ok so i have a question about a 4.3l vortec in a 2000 s10 blazer with 50,000 miles, it runs good i do all my own work and it runs without a problem ( no codes) but i think it has a plugged catalytic converter, i concitered just straight pipeing my exaust and getting rid of all of it and just piting a muffeler on ( im not worried about emissions) will it have any problems with the o2 sencer or will it run just fine do you think?

Well, as Scotty said, you're breaking federal law by removing them. Yes, you absolutely will have a CEL lit for 02 readings as you're basically eliminating the incinerators that burn off the pollutants before they hit the sensors to read.

The best thing to do is replace the cats. Otherwise you will have trouble codes, gas stench while driving, an obnoxious exhaust sound, and poor performance due to lost back pressure. You will also damage the motor over time. I always recommend against removing the converters.

Is there a recomended after market cat (thrush)? (magnaflo)?that would be legal and also make it a little louder? thats also why i am considering a cat delete is for sound

For a little louder, I would use a Magnaflow. Straight pipes with no cats sound terrible on literally anything.

Oh it can run perfectly fine but of course you're breaking federal law removing the catalytic converters. But people do that all the time here in Clarksville Tennessee because they don't have any emissions testing at all or even car inspections

Ok thank you scotty for the feed back! But im still worried about doing it myself becuse im not very skilled and am not experienced like everyone else regular matenence is a different story but modifying is not really my thing and im really worried i might do irreverseable damage that i cannot afford to get fixed by a professional its my first vehicle i have ever bought and maintain myself (im a minor) so thank you again for answering my question and keep doing what your doing a lot of stuff i learn comes directly from your videos so thank you! And happy late 4th of july!
