2000 Chevy Silverado 2500 6.0 4x4 feel like I am driving over rumble strips intermittently at 50+ MPH
I checked the U Joints, CV Axles, and Drive Shaft - they all seem fine...
I assume this is the torque converter or transmission in general. I bought this vehicle and of course there are no service records and the prior owner is unavailable. My main question is should I drop the tranny and swap out the torque converter or just buy a reman transmission? I can pick up a transmission locally for only $1500 (reman). Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Typically that is the transmission that does that. When you find out everything like the u-joints drive shafts are in good shape. Take it to a four-wheel drive specialist. They're always testing those things out on those and they could tell you if it was the transmission or perhaps a transfer case
