My partner and I recently inherited from her father, a 2000 Dodge Dakota Sport Extended Cab 3.9L V6 with a manual transmission and 115k original miles. The water pump, radiator and heater core was replaced last year and the engine is very clean. It runs well, but the check engine light comes on from time to time. (I suspect a bad gas cap but have not had a change to scan it.) We want to keep it as a third vehicle for picking up things we are going to need to work on the house we inherited in East TN where we are moving back to. Plus the house is a little out in the country where it will come in handy.
My question is, how reliable can we expect this vehicle to be. It has been well maintained and looks really good for a 22-year-old vehicle. Anything we should be aware of???
Thanks,
Sydney

Scan the vehicle for any codes and then go from there.

If it's well maintained and you do your daily maintenance that's required, that truck can last some time.

If you’d like Scotty to give it a once over (if you’re willing to drive to Clarksville, TN), set up an appointment with him -
