The motors are bad on drivers seat { 2000 gmc sierra 1500 4x4 slt} I picked up a set of seats from a 2005 sierra at the yard thinking just swap the seats out, they bolt up fine but the wiring harness is different. How can I make this work if possible?
grab some schematics on charm.li and match up the wires. the 2005 seat might have safety features your truck doesn't support.
Thanks for the info, I appreciate it! Electrical wiring is not my thing, mechanical I'm on top of it, I'll look it over and try to make sense of it.
if you need help interpreting the schematics, then post them here (both the '00 and '05) and I'll try to help
I believe these are the ones. Thank you
well the 2005 diagram only shows two wires: power and ground
OG = orange
BLK = black
Thoe colors should be the same on your harness and the seat.
If you connect those then you'll have manual controls.
Obviously, if the seat you got doesn't have the memory module, then memory settings won't work.
I think the first main problem is that the wiring harness connections are different in size/style that come through the truck floor. the ones from the 05' is a bigger harness corrector than the 2000' so I have to use the harness from the 2000 and put them in the 05'?
if you want plug and play compatibility, you'll have to find the same seat
