good evening folks

bob's 2000 accord v6 with 220k miles all of the sudden got a blasting horn alarm by itself

i reset the battery and started the engine and it went away, but then 30 mins later again gets triggered by itself,

and turning the engine on didn't make it stop next time.

Does it have an aftermarket alarm system or is it OEM from the factory?

This only applies if it's not some aftermarket immobilizer....pull the fuse for the security alarm when you park.

If it has a horn specifically for the alarm as most do, cut the wires to it then either seal the ends coming from the source OR trace it to the source & unplug it.

A few months back I found out that the truck I purchased had a dealer installed aftermarket alarm so it appeared stock until I got to the brain box. I ended up rewiring just about the entire dash because it was hooked into EVERYTHING. The only upside is that I now have a box with a few hundred feet of spare wire, connectors & plenty of inline fuses.
