Just a quick question about whether I need an alignment after replacing the rear struts. I know I needed an alignment after replacing the front struts because of steering but will it effect the alignment when replacing the rear ones?

shock absorbers ... no . because they're not structural and don't change the geometry.

But struts are a structural part of the suspension. Differences in dimensions can change wheel geometry.

It's not just about steering. I'm sure you can imagine how a slightly shorter control arm will change the position of the wheel, right?
