Super dumb question. When I start the engine it shoots to 2500 rpm. Slowly it goes down to 700. Like takes 5 minutes.

Should I wait the rpm to go down ? Or can right away drive it ? Sometimes I need to go right away, late for work etc has no time to wait the stupid rpm. Should I ?

There’s no harm in driving off right away, just don’t redline the engine before it has reached operating temperature or you’ll cause premature wear of the engine.

It’s absolutely normal for the car to idle high on a cold start.

If I'm in rush, I would wait around 30 seconds and then drive.
