2000 Toyota Celica instrument panel out

Hello - I own a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS automatic with 230K miles. The instrument panel went out a few weeks ago. This seems to be a common problem with this model. I believe it is blowing out a fuse every time o start the car, indicating a potential electrical problem. It also has symptoms of the speed sensor being dysfunctional/out, with shifting problems - but intermittently. Thanks - Brian K

Well as with any electrical short you have to trace the whole system. But for my experience with those often the dashes themselves do short out from age. It's 23 years old now and the circuit board's often short out. I see that a lot on those.
