Hello I have a 2000 vw jetta 2.0L as the car warms up I'm not getting no heat in the cabin of the car I replaced the water pump timing belt,  timing belt tensioner, thermostat and I burped the system for at least a hour no overheating and the blend doors I redone but the car has 277000 miles on it would you guys suspect my head gasket is starting to blow could that be the reason I'm not getting heat or little heat?? When I drive the car I get a little heat but not enough 🤣 need help guys before I go tearing this car apart to get to the head gasket for replacement??

Either you have air in the system or the heater core is clogged up.

I flush the heater core with the prestone flush kit clean water came out the heater core when u got done even back flushed it I get heat while driving but it's warmish not hot

So, odds are that you have air in the system.

Ima try again to get the air out wish me luck

Please describe exactly how you burped the air from the system.

I filled the reservoir with coolant until it couldn't take no more started the engine BTW I had the car on a jack stand in the process of bleeding to get the air bubbles to come to the highest point in the cooling system and I keep eyes on it for 45 mins revving the engine a couple times to help the air come out and the fans kicked on about 5 to 6 times so I figured I got all the air out the system and still warmish heat not hot heat .

You did not say that you opened the heater valve to high while burping the system. Did you do that too?

Yes I did that but most people saying I got air in the system but I would overheat if I did and I don't

You said you filled the reservoir but did you fill the radiator too?

On them jettas you only can fill by reservoir it got a pressure cap on it

Specifications for your vehicle shows that it takes a 20lb radiator cap that is indeed removable and must be removed to properly service the cooling system. You still have air trapped in the system.

I will see thanks
