Hey Scotty and community,
I have a 2006 Toyota Camry-Solara V6 SLE, with 146,000 miles. Recently it seems the car has developed what I would describe as a rough idle/rumble, mostly when giving gas at low speed. Like, if I’m driving the backroads to work, it’s about 35-50 speed limits. If I’m in the 20s-30s and give it gas, there is definitely a rumble/vibration. It doesn’t seem to stick around when getting up to speed.
There are no warning lights on the dash, the car has had regular oil changes and the basics done pretty regularly. Just recently replaced the tires and did an alignment, because the tires were seemingly wearing pretty quick.
Other than this? There hasn’t been much issues. A code threw a while back for an O2 sensor, don’t quote me but I believe bank 2–but it went away, and at that time there was no noticeable issues and I figured maybe it was just aging and I probably should replace it soon.
I don’t have a code reader—so should I get it scanned and see if anything does pop up? I figured some code would’ve thrown by now if there were another issue going on.
yes, the best first step you can do is to scan it. you don't got to have a code tripped to have trouble. An example is is the fuel trims' live data which can be off, affecting performance, but not severe enough to trip a code, pay attention to both your STFT and LTFT(s) . Often, older cars develop vacuum leaks which can be more pronounced when at lower rpm/idling..so should I get it scanned
