Hello are the old 2000s honda accord v6 engines reliable like the 4 cylinders?

It's a good engine and they have been building that same one (minor changes) for... geez.. 25 yrs?! maybe more so yea, a good engine re: reliability. But a 20 yo engine likely will have issues.

The engines them selves are excellent but for the 2012 and before model years, the V6 has too much power in that there were many and multiple break issues, like excessive wear, as well as transmission wear on the auto's. I would stay away from a higher mileage V6 with an automatic especially if it is before 2007. The newer ones seem to be good. A 4 cylinder is good enough. The Camry from the same generations (up to 2006) are bulletproof.
