Ok Scotty, 2007 Tahoe 5.3 220,00 + miles one owner. I keep blowing the 10amp fuse for bank 1 sensor 2. I put a new sensor in and same result. Connector on the body side looked bad so, I cut both plugs off and soldered and heat shrank 4 wires together. Guess what still blowing the fuse. Where do I go next?
Lost in a wire harness. Thx
You need a shot detecting tool. You replace the fuse with a circuit breaker. You next run the short detector along the wiring harness until you find the short. Sounds simple. Sometimes it is sometimes it isn't, but short of opening up the entire wiring harness it's the next best thing.
As I recall, that fuse supplies current to the O2 heaters in both sensors on that bank so it's a cumulative current thru that fuse from both sensors. I'd unplug the one you replaced, does it blow now? Likely one of heater wires is crimped somewhere tho.
