Hi, my 2001 Toyota Avalon 130,000 miles, needs an automatic transmission its staring to slip, and the fluid is very dark, where can I buy a very good and dependable transmission to replace mine. Also, I do have some mechanic skills so will it be and easy swap or will there need to be adjustments with special tools. Thank You.
Here are some places to consider:
https://www.jasperengines.com/transmissions
https://reman-transmission.com/
https://www.certifiedtransmission.com/remanufactured/
This is not a DIY job. Leave it to the professionals.
Hi, thank you for your reply it is greatly appreciated, so you don't think this is just a swap job old for new? Do you think I will need special tools or adjustments that require special tools or gauges? Thanks again.
its staring to slip, and the fluid is very dark,
Aren't you going to try replacing the fluid, before replacing the whole transmission?
It's a little bit cheaper.
Hi and thank you for your reply. This happened to me once before with a chevy I used to own and when I replaced the oil the problem got worst and the transmission just stopped working, that's why I was looking for places to get one, for this Avalon, but yes, I will replace the fluid and filter first but just want to be ready. Thank You
