Last week I was taking a drive out in the country, I stopped on the side of the road for a minute or two (never put the car in park, just kept my foot on the brake) when I went to pull back on the road, the car wouldn't move. It acted like it was in neutral. I went through all the forward gears and reverse, no movement. It didn't make any noises at all.

The car has 202273 miles. I am the second owner. I bought it from a friend who gave me all the service records. There was a DTC P0743. I changed the fluid and filter. Still won't move. BTW, love your videos

Thanks in advance Keith Dawson

Sounds like the transmission let go. With that mileage it is time for a replacement.

I'd probably get a new ride instead because you're not going to want to put a lot of money into an Impala.

Thank you. You're correct I don't wanna put any more money into this car than what I have thus far

there could be several causes.

If it's not an electrical fault, then the transmission probably gave up.

Impalas weren't really built to go much past 200k

Not really what I wanted to hear. LOL. But thank you for the input.
