I have an 01 f150 5.4 super crew 4x4 lariat automatic with 118000 miles. Recently between 45 and 55 when I tap the accelerator it makes a hard jerk or shudder feel and it feels like it’s coming from the rear or under middle console. It has not thrown any codes. I have read it could be torque converter or plugs/coil overs. It still has original plus and coils and transmission has never been serviced to my knowledge. Should I go the plug route or focus on the transmission? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the transmission is wearing out but at this point it's best to have a mechanic you trust look at it and see what can be fixed if anything. It also could be something in the 4 wheel drive system and its going to take a pro to look over it with a fine tooth comb.
