So my f150 has the problem where the shift indicator is off. When i go from park through the gears they are off by one. Example Drive is on 2 on the indicator. The weird thing is when i go through the gears the other direction the indicator is where it should be. Any ideas?

Opps sorry busy night your cars I would think your cars too old to for it to be a software problem I don't work on a lot of truck so I'm not even sure if scanning the car would get you anywhere. If you really want to tear into the car you could take apart the shifter but I'm not sure what you'd be looking for exactly. What style of shifter is it?

It is a column shifter and it doesn't bring up any codes.

It has a combination neutral safety switch /shift indicator attached directly to the transmission. I might just try replacing it.
