Lost the keys to a 2001 f150 with 4.6L. Now I called a lock smith and it would be about 350 dollars to get new key and coded.

can I get a new key and cylinder and then would that be good to go? Or do I still have to get it coded? If so is there anyway I could do it myself.

Your car has an immobilizer so the new key needs to be programmed. Unfortunately, since you don't have a spare key to copy, it will cost you more.

Hey, thank you. I ordered a new ignition set and bought a lock pick to take out the old ignition. My buddy has the Xtool D8 so i should be able to program with that! If it works I will let you know.
