2001 Ford F150 4r70w Transmission Question

Hello everyone, I have an issue with my F150's transmission. Only 83,000 miles on it but basically when its cold, it will take a really long time to shift from 2nd to 3rd gear. But once its warmed up or close to being warm it will shift perfectly up and down no problem. The previous owner did not take care of the fluid because it was real dirty when I bought it. I did the stupid mistake of changing out the fluid and putting fresh fluid in (drain and fill). But i wanted to get your opinion on what else it could be.

If the shift between 2nd and 3rd is the only time you are experiencing the issue, and it is only when cold, you may be experiencing transmission flaring.

Here is a good article about it:

I think the drain and fill was appropriate. If you didn't replace the filter, you probably should next time. I doubt this has anything to do with the shifting issue.
