Hello, I have had my 2001 honda civic worked on these past couple months and have had repairs made to replace ac compressor, thermostat, and radiator. The initial problem was during the summer after running the car for 30 min it would go into a limp mode and not surpass 20mph. I was driving home during this occurrence and my car started smoking. After getting everything replaced I am still getting the same problem of it going into limp mode. The big problem is it happens intermittently so on cool mornings nothing will happen but in the afternoon the temperature gauge will fluctuate. Any ideas on what could be going on?

Make sure your radiator fans are working. They should run when you turn the AC on.
If you don't have a code scanner, go to autozone (et al) and have them scan for codes.
They will usually print you a report, and may actually know what's wrong (But don't bet on it).
radiator fans are kicking on constantly no leaks currently
thanks for replying!
Check your fans and also check your cooling system for leaks. Have you noticed the coolant level constantly getting lower?
coolant level is all the way full no current leaks at this time and fans are working. Thanks for replying!
