I just ran across a few of your videos. I am praying you might b able to help me. My husband was diagnosed with an abdominal aorta aneurysm and 1 week After that Colin cancer among other issues. On way to one of his tests I was going 70 and just had turned off cruise control ( had not used in years) a couple minutes later our car made a sound like tranny fell out or blew tire. Got over to the side and sounded like tranny was making awful noise. We had no check engine light or warning light prior to this and never had any issues. After getting it towed home we ran the codes and got p0500. Changed wheel speed sensors and the ones on tranny. The code now says p0500 sensor A. The car can roll in park and when put in park it makes grinding sound. The shifter goes thru gears but sounds like it's not catching. The car don't go at all. The engine sounds great! We cannot figure out what this is and can't afford to have it towed in. We really need someone to tell us what it could be. Husband has no medical insurance to speak of. It's 7900 out of pocket that we don't have. We are both disabled and old n really need to figure out what the. Issue is. Wouldn't we get a code if was transmission or some type of warning? It feels like we are overlooking something stupid or simple. We just Kno that the Good Lord would not let anything further happen as we are distraught as it is. Please if you could give us an opinion on what it could be ? We thank you for your time please and Thanks so much! Angela

Check your drive axles. Although I don't like to call such an event "lucky" - if you're lucky one of your drive axles broke which is making the noise and is preventing the car from moving. The way to check this would be by visual inspection.

If it's not that, unfortunately it sounds like the transmission has given out. Does it have enough fluid in it? What does the fluid look like? Generic scan tools won't read transmission codes, that takes a deeper scan with a professional-grade scanner.

You posted this exact thing 3 days ago, and received an answer of one thing you can check and the probability of transmission failure. We are sympathetic but please take note that it is against forum rules to make multiple posts about the same thing. This is to keep the site orderly and to keep the progress of a particular problem in one place.

If you want to bump your topic up so it receives more attention, the thing to do is add your own comment or answer to your original post. Thank you.
