I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima with a v6. Car has a hard time starting, but once it does start. It only stays started if I apply gas. will not hold an idle. I added gas. Didn’t work. Would like to know how to diagnose this.

First check for a vacuum like if you have a vacuum like under the hood it'll do exactly that
