I need to know how to make a 2001 power steering line work on a 2004 how to hook it up
Your title says putting a 2001 motor into a 2004 Ion, but your question is about a power steering line. Please clarify and provide more information.

I'm guessing you blew the original engine & the older accessories have different fittings?
If it is in fact different hoses/fittings you're going to need a shop to make you a custom piece if you don't already know how.
