I recently purchased a 2001 Suzuki Esteem GLX Sedan, 1.8 4 cylider, 5spd with 130k miles and absolutely love it. I've had the car checked out by two different mechanics for the check engine light, I purchased a cheap $20 OBDII reader from Walmart which reveals the code: P0040 "Evaporative Emission System" overall the car runs great, possibly a little bit rough at idle but very slight. Curious about this code, what do you think about this year Suzuki and what to look out for in terms of maintenance? (Timing chain/suspension/ect?). So far all I've done is the oil/filter change, run some PEA fuel system cleaner and had the spark plugs changed.
