Hello: I have a 2001 Toyota Avalon, a year ago l had a p1349 code. The car was running rough and it was determined that the vvt oil solenoid was leaking so it was replaced. After that the car ran find for several weeks, then the check engine light turned on with same code. My mechanic determined that the ecm control was not working properly so it was replaced. Again the light was off and the car ran great for a few weeks, then check engine light turn back on with the same code. My mechanic could not find any other issues and suggested there could be a internal blockage that would require them tear the engine apart to investigate.
This car has 240000 miles and has been well maintained. It does not burn oil, does not run rough, in short, it's runs great except for the code.
I did run a engine cleaner with my oil change and reset the light but it did turn back on.
Please help
No aftermarket parts were used in any of the repairs.
