Right now my transmission is fine shift just great in my 2001 Toyota Camry le. At 144,000 miles she I change the transmission fluid? Fluid is brown. I purchased the vehicle from a really old couple and I don’t know the full history. Should I leave it be or change it?

Yes, change it and don't forget to replace the filter.
