My 2001 Tacoma 3.4 V-6 starts right up and runs great but it stops running after 45 minutes of idling and it takes 20 minutes to restart. It'll also stop running while driving. I used 3 different code readers and it wont give me a code. What else should I do or look for????

It's not good to allow a vehicle to idle that long but it still should not be shutting off. The lack of codes indicate the car thinks it is supposed to be shutting off. That is to say it is not a detected fault causing the engine to shut off. I suspect ignition switch and or wiring in the ignition circuit. The switches do wear out as they are a mechanical device and in this case it has had 20 years of use.

Hope this is helpful.

I would also suspect a possible clogged fuel filter.  Worth a look.  When was it last changed?
