G'day, my 2002 acura El (200 000 kms)is making a squeaking noise from the passenger side, it is very inconsistant and will come on and off alot, it also does the noise at idle, thanks!
Can you tell where it comes from? Is it under the hood? or inside the cabin?

Ok. the G'day threw me off....well the front of the engine is on the passenger side, so first thought is that it's something to do with the serpentine/drive belt and associated parts driven by it.
so should i have that belt changed then, if so how much would it cost me?
and should i do it myself?
First figure out what it is. Could be belt, could be a pulley or bearing from one of the accessories (alt., water pump, ac, idler(s)/belt tensioner. I hate intermittent noises, so hard to pin down.
should i get mechanic stethoscope to find out for sure what it is or what do you recommend?
When was the last time you had your drive belt replaced?
i bought it used so i don't know if its been replaced, i doubt it has been
