i've got a 2002 camry, 2.4l, getting the occasional antifreeze smell. should i replace gasker, or are there any head gasket sealers that are worthwhile and wont blow up engine

Is the antifreeze smell inside the car? Could be the heater core. Even if outside it could be just a leaky hose or radiator.

Dumb question: How did you determine it’s the head gasket?

Are you sure it's the head gasket? Scotty has several videos on how to easily check the head gasket. If you're smelling coolant inside the car, pull up the carpet (wet?) on the driver's side, to the right of the gas pedal. The heater core is there. Check for leaks. Start with the simple things.
