2002 dodge intrepid 2.7l Automatic

I notice that the gear was rough to put in drive then park eventually  sometime if I took a pulse in gear shift it would go in park then suddenly it wouldn't  go back in park so I had to keep it in neutral and starting cut it off that way with the emergency brake on key left in car and one day I was driving to pick up my husband and I pulled up to put it in park nothing then I pulled it back to drive to only have it totally loose  on me where as thou i couldn't put it in any gear it was left in 3 I drove home and the car was stuck in 3 turned the Car off emergency brake on key left in the car extra key with me then my dad took off the floor cover of the gear shift cable and the bushing was cracked due to the over and over forcing It in gear i would expect that. Then I tried pushing he cable in gear by hand with foot on brake and nothing. I just would like to know the top three things that I need to fix asap .because the cable looks fine minis the bushing for cable cracking
