Hello there I’m trying to get my 2002 4.0L V6 Ford ranger running good. This truck has 277,000 Miles on it as of right now it was leaking oil so I changed the oil pan gasket and the oil filter so that’s not leaking anymore, I also changed the air filter. After I changed all of that I thought it would be running a little better but when we tried to get it to start it started a little funny and we had to crank it a few times, we let it run for a while turned it off and re cranked it same issue it didn’t want to start so we stopped there. I asked my friends dad who knows a little about fords and he said it could be because we changed stuff but it still has a exhaust leak so im just coming here to see what you think.

I'm a little confused about the wording, here. From the wording, it appears you changed the engine oil pan gasket, not the transmission pan gasket. Some people refer to transmission fluid as "oil", or transmission oil. Which gasket was/is leaking?
