so i have a 2002 accord v6 ex coupe and when im driving on it normally, nothing happens. but when i start dogging on it, it'll get to 3500 rpms and it'll cut power. like ill go to make a pull it it'll act like it wont shift and it just hit the rev limiter. but i can drive it normally right after?? it throws codes for p1259 (vtec system b1 failure) so i'm thinking vtec solenoid. like the whole oil filter housing with the oil pressure switch and the vtec solenoid. what do yall think? have yall ever ran into this before? i can attach videos if need be

i’m stuck

Did you follow the instructions I posted? Step #1 is to reset the ECM.

You can do this by unhooking your negative battery cable, and then pressing your brake for 10 seconds.

Then you'll need a multimeter to do some electrical diagnosing per the instructions. Follow them step by step.

@imperator will this work for the 3.0l v6 j30 motor that’s in the 2002 honda accord?

open the link and see? It says right in the title.

@imperator will the timing belt affect that [expletive deleted]? i know it needs a timing job but idk if it will affect the vtec system

Since you haven't read the rules, they are posted on the front page. Please go read them now so you're familiar. You have been warned. The next violation is an instant ban. For the third time, you need to read the instructions in the link posted, and follow the instructions there, step-by-step, to a 'T'. The timing belt is not given by Honda as one of the causes for your malfunction indicator.
