Shaking after axle replacement

Dear Scotty and Community,

Recently, the mechanic replaced both the front (left and right) axle of the 2002 Honda CR-V with 120K+ mileage. During acceleration, the vehicle would shake. We have brought it back to the mechanic and he redid the front axle (left side) claiming it was defective. It had reduced the shaking significantly; however, he claimed that the persistent shaking could be due to the problems in the transmission and it had to be swapped with another from the junk yard and quoted $1,500 for the repair.

What is your take? Should we go ahead with the repair (transmission)? Or is the cause of the shaking due to something else (incompatibility of the aftermarket axle)?

Thank you for your help!

Was it shaking before the axles were replaced? If not it seems awfully coincidental that this symptom would start just after this repair was done.

No, it was not shaking before the axles were replaced. The shaking is below both the driver's seat and passenger's seat. What are your suggestions?
