Hi Scotty. I have 3 questions. I have a 2002 Infiniti qx4 automatic transmission and it has 176,000 miles on it but the engine has been replaced by an engine that online had 30,000mile on it around 100,000 because he(my uncle blow the engine by driving it without coolant).
My first question is I got this car from my uncle and there is a code p0507 idle air control system RPM higher than expected and I took it to the dealership and they said the ideal air controls valve and ECM has to be changed because they said the computer is not taking the reprogram so I changed the idle control valve my self(brand new) and when I tried to do the relearn as they said it the computer is not taking it and now it's idling at 1500rpm and some times 2000 so shall I change the ECM too with a used one because the new one is 1200$ and I don't want to put that kinda money on the car. And I want the car for 2 years cause am a student and I don't have a budget for a car so what do you think should do?
My second how reliable is this car?
My final question is when I try to change a lane on the high way quickly or when I try to move the stirring wheel quickly on both sides it fills like it going to role over to the other side it has I changed the struts and the sway bar link and I don't know what is causing that problem any solution?
"My second how reliable is this car?" I think your post answers this question. This car is old enough and need a new ECM you can't put that in yourself it has to be programed to the car and that that ALONE is going to cost you as much as the car is worth to fix which means you need to sell this car for whatever you can get. Never buy a car from your Uncle again.... and buy something that will be reliable and last you awhile. Heres what I found for reliable: https://www.autotempest.com/results?make=honda&zip=90210&maxprice=6000&maxyear=2009&bodystyle=sedan
