[Solved] 2002 Toyota 4Runner rear differential leaking

I noticed the leak from my 2002 Toyota 4runner (185,000 miles) under the rear differential. The mechanic suggested removing the rust and sealing this cover with epoxy after removing the differential fluid and then replace it after the epoxy dries. Any other suggestions for this issue? This pan appears to be welded on as there are no bolts to take it off. The drip is coming from near the bolt where you put the fluid in.

That might work (I've seen JB Weld do some amazing things) but it would probably be better to weld it. The whole thing looks pretty rough though.


@chucktobias Thank you, I guess they are not going to remove it and only just take the rust off somehow. Hopefully it works!
