why does my Camry downshift instead of coasting

Hey Scotty I have two 2002 Toyota Camrys. Both have 130k. When driving both cars, usually around 40 mph, if I let my foot off the gas it downshifts instead of coasting. What’s wrong with my cars?

If you leave them in D, and the speed drops below a certain threshold, they’re supposed to downshift..

If you don’t add any throttle input at all from 40mph, eventually the transmission may settle at ~10mph, in the lowest gear.

Yes I’m in D. I mean as soon as I let off the gas it downshifts. Not for a long period of time. Just letting off for a second

Umm, I don’t think that’s normal. Can you please make a YouTube video/s showing this behaviour in both your cars, and post the links here?

You shouldn’t really worry about it. It just how it shifts using the onboard computer and the speed input sensor both controlling the shift timing
