I had a engine light on the Highlander pop up on my moms vehicle , I checked the code says knock sensor. So we took it to a local mechanic and changed both knock sensors from Toyota . 3 days later the light pops up again . So we take it to the dealer to check it with there fancy oBD reader . They said it’s the Knock Sensors . Now I’m lost what can it really be if I changed out the knock sensor . Really need help with this ….!!
Clarification: Which code or codes come up when you plug in a scan tool? Can you provide the specific P code? Can you also provide the freeze frame data?

Well if your mechanic did not use Toyota OEM knock sensors odds are they're not any good be aftermarket stuff is crap for those sensors
