Hello, the one thing that has been bothering me lately about my car is whenever I accelerate or take my foot off the accelerator pedal, a mild “pop” comes from the right front side. The popping noise does not occur twice if I shift from light to heavy acceleration. Likewise, if I let my foot off the gas pedal (and pops), it will not pop twice if I start using the brakes to decelerate.

I have replaced the right front strut with a quality one, and it made no difference. I have lifted the vehicle and wiggled the right front wheel up/down and side/side to check for play in the wheel. There was no discernible play in the wheel.

My remaining suspicions reside with the lower control arm and CV joint (even though the boot is still sealed). Hopefully, you guys may have some insight that I’m not noticing.

When you had it raised, when you wiggled it means, "tried to yank it around everywhere", the control arm should be good.

Have you checked all your engine mounts? Are they all intact/recently replaced?

@inthrustwetrust
I have not closely inspected the engine mounts. I did lift the front of the car off the ground to spin the front wheels, and the light clunk did not sound. It only made noise when there was friction (placed on the ground).

I have recently replaced the dog-bone mount, though.
