Don’t do it. Scotty has given the world enough of reasons why not to buy a Hyundai. The fact that this drivetrain didn’t even last 10yrs is a testament to Scotty’s experience.

Also, you have no way of knowing if the engine & transmission was rebuilt correctly.

When you say brand new, is it rebuilt or brand spanking new like when you buy a new car with 0 miles on?

@inthrustwetrust
Brand new dealer replaced it cause of recall and they put an upgraded engine in it and I looked the car over and zero rust all brand new front end new ti rods and new tires the tea all on last engine was due to bearings in the bottom end of motor

If you’re still planning on buying it, an almost 10yr old Hyundai is worth nothing, even with a new drivetrain.

I’d much rather have a Camry or an Accord and have peace of mind for the entire ownership period.

@inthrustwetrust
Not normally a Hyundai fan but after looking at the car and inspecting it well over its super clean and had an older model and it made it to 400000 then I had issues so considering this one due to it being a gas saver that and something to use as an emergency if one of my trucks ever go down the car is priced at 2500

See if they’ll take $1500-$2000.

In my opinion your title says a lot.  And if it's like one's I've seen recently around these years, you have plastic, switch and paint issues starting to show up.  Of course not knowing how the car was kept/stored, my answer really can't be the most correct one unless it is "typical".

On the good side, New Engine and Transmission ;  )

@hillbilly
I currently own two Chevy 1500 that I’ve built from the ground up and run like new one has over 300000 miles on it and keeps going and haven had problems from it since day one. Decided I wanted to do the work and make new

Oh, different story, heck yea. Always fun to take a challenge learn, invaluable and in the long run, you've got the best value you can achieve.

@hillbilly
Got both trucks together under 500$
