Greetings from Greece. My name is Andreas. I bought a used Toyota auris 1.6 lt dual vvti 124hp 2007 model year. It only had 63000 klm on when I bought it November last year. Today it has 77227 klm on. It was made in Turkey. Is there anything I should keep my on? Any issues these cars are known about? Oh and I'm using Mobil 1 5w-30.
Thank you in advance!
You got basically a Toyota Corrolla hatch back.
Just changed the fluids per manual and I think you should be fine.
Btw, is it manual ?
@yaser
Yes it's a 5 gear manual transmission
Great, you can have so much fun with it compared to automatic.
Just one thing: Check the engine oil level once regularly (once a week I would say).
@yaser
Just changed it. It doesn't burn any oil. The dealer ship says I should be using 10w-40. The manual says 5w-30. I do whatever the manual says. Maybe the dealer is afraid of oil consumption....
Good. Just follow the manual and again check the oil once in a while. It does not hurt but it gives you a peace of mind.
@yaser
Thank you!
By the way, I asked my mechanic about changing the coolant. He said I should never change it unless the water pump goes off... Anyway he gave me the impression that he is afraid to change it.
Hello there!
You are asking about issues. In 2006 Toyota started making this model, in 2007 it came in Europe. When a new model or generation comes out, you can always expect issues that become known during first few years of usage.
The first generation of Auris was a subject of several recalls (check this link for more info).
It's good to know if your car was serviced under them.
I put down some issues you can expect:
- oil consumption,
- squeaky brakes,
- rough shifting,
- ECU problems etc.
Sad but true, unfortunately.

I do have squeaky brakes. But that's about it. No oil consumption what so ever, shifting is great too.
So far so good. If car was repaired under recalls then there should not be any problems.
Good luck.

Thank you!
