I have a 2002 vw beetle..and it been sitting for couple weeks..its been in the 30's outside..and when i get in and put it in drive it has like a 5 second delay then it will go in drive..it does it in reverse to......after it warms up it dont do it. in summer it has a little delay when putting it in gear...but shifting wise going down the road it does perfect....whats up??

It sounds like your 21-year-old high mileage transmission is wearing out. When is the last time that fluid and filter were changed?
