I know you ride motorcycles--Have you analysed Monotracers yet? I say it is a good concept but implemented by Europeans so that it never had a chance to make it to the US market--it was over complicated as is often the case in germanic cultures. It could be simplified and made cost-effectively, and would be a smash hit with commuters, travellers, enthusiasts like you and me.

I've been driving bikes for 50 years and it doesn't appeal to me as a motorcyclist.
It's neither fish nor fowl. If I wanted an enclosed sporty vehicle I wouldn't buy it, I'd buy a sports car. And like you mentioned, it's expensive. They want around $80,000 (base price) for this thing.
I just don't see a large enough market for it.
