It looks like this model year may have the oil burning and/or engine sludge issues (VIN is jthbf30gx36018656) with the 1mz-fe engine. Your video "Avoid These Toyotas Like the Plague" @ the 1:47 mark stops at model year 2002 for the ES300 when showing the list of affected models. I haven't been able to find anything online that says the problem was remedied starting with 2003 models. The car only has about 90,000 miles. You think this model year affected by it? Even if it's potentially affected by it, you think it's probably fine if the pre-purchase inspection checks out? thanks
It seems that the 2003 model year is affected by this issue. The affected models: 1993-2003.
I don't advise you to check the car since the average mileage this issue shows up is around 150k miles, so you may not find it now, but later on you may have some issues.
