Hi, my inlaw is looking at a ford focus 2003, the seller is asking 1500, he is hoping to get it for 1000, it has 123k miles and the seller says it needs brake calipers, is it worth it?

Well brake calipers don't cost that much but if you cannot road test the car because of that I would not buy it because you never know what else is wrong and I could just be hiding a deeper problem like a failing transmission

ford focus 2003
First generation Ford Focuses used to be legendarily unreliable - I'd only consider it if it has a DuraTec and if you're planing to work on it your self.
