Is a gmc Sonoma i4 2.2L a good truck. I found one with 170k and it will be my first truck and will use it as a daily since it’s a i4. Any thoughts? My dad is a mechanic so we will check it out but I wanted more information besides my dad haha.
That’s basically the Chevrolet S-10, and those were good, reliable trucks esp. with the manual transmission. See below at 2:44 from Master Mechanic The Car Wizard

Thanks
Well it’s a bloody old truck..
The only reason I think you should consider it as your daily, is because your dad is a mechanic & it may be a good launchpad for you to learn how to fix vehicles (from your dad).
With that said, if the engine/transmission have any problems whatsoever, just walk.
If it does check out, it’s not worth anything, so don't overpay!
Good luck!
Thanks for the input. I’m a quick lube tech at a Chevy dealership so I am a motivated technician but will definitely keep in mind about the transmission!
Ahhh, in that case, go right ahead if both you & your dad can work on cars..
It’s not fun holding the flashlight & being sworn at.. hence my earlier hesitation.
Alright truck
