I have a 2003 Hyundai Elantra I got as my first car almost 2 years now with 156,000. I have worked on it countless times. But I can never wonder why 3rd gear does not hold properly. If I go 1st, 2nd, it shifts fine. But In third gear, the rpm increases then slightly decreases, and then increase to where it then shifts into forth. This is only warm though. On cold, the car shifts fine in 3rd. What could be the leading cause of it and how long until the transmission goes? I have put new fluid into it after finding out it was a quart low from the previous owner.
Sad but true that's how those things wear out the Koreans use relatively weak automatic transmission yours is starting to go out I would just say baby at cuz it's not worth the price of a new transmission
