Hello all
3.0 V6 Automatic transmission. Does not drive forward nor in reverse. No sounds other than the sound of moving the shifter. Engine RPM unaffected when shifting thru all positions. No OBD codes. Trans fluid dirty red. Shifter linkage to transmission is good. No external trans filter. (Is it the one that is buried inside?)
Received car in this condition with no history from tow yard.
Anyone know of or had this issue with theirs?

Those had horrible automatic transmissions and that one was obviously shot I personally would not go any further you can spend four or five grand trying to fix those transmissions. But if you're gambling person try to use transmission from a junkyard and pray

Aside from my usual route of replacing with a junkyard pull (as you rightly suggest) I was considering the possibility that a solenoid or other easily replaced component could be solution. Hah, not likely, right!
I previously enjoyed owning a 2001 Galant V6 (4cyl models are really pointless) for many reliable years
until a very large deer seriously damaged the front AND the top of the car. At 55 years old I'm tired of pulling transmissions at pick-n-pulls. And yes, I drive a Camry.
