I have a 2003 GMC Serria SLE with a 5.3 motor,2 wheel drive, with 210,000 miles. My question, My gauge cluster has completely stop working , not even the odometer working. what is the best thing todo. my brother had the same problem with his truck same truck that I have and he sent his off to a company with a core dash he took off his truck and had to send the mileage to calibrate the new one, but I don't know my mileage cause it is not working . what is my options. Option 1: have it diagnosed to make sure the problem is in fact the instrument panel, and not the wiring. Have you checked your fuses? If it's dead then find one online or at a scrap dealer.
no but you can smack the dash with your hand and will work, but that doesn't work anymore, I thought the mileage had to be set on them or calibrate them or does the brain in the electrical system store that in its memory?
I think miles are stored in the cluster assembly, but I'm not 100% on that.
