I'm looking for a used car to buy I came across a 2003 vw passat for $2650. Everything looks great. Are these cars generally reliable and would you recommend it?

Honestly its a pretty low price... there is probably something wrong with it. The transmissions are known to go out on these and the electronics fail. I wouldn't expect it to go for too long...

depending what mileage is could be decent for the amount your paying. if your okay with a car that old id recommend buying a Buick with a 3800 engine much better value and can be pretty cheap since theyre not made anymore
