So I have a buick park avenue with the 3800 series 2 engine that got running scalding hot for like 70 miles with no antifreeze...so now I have to pump the gas to get it to start..it has blown head gasket....and oil is leaking out of the valve cover gaskets...but...it will run and idle...so its not blown up.....could I get away with changing the head gaskets and valve cover gaskets...and intake gaskets...and still have a runnable car? Need some opinions on this..thanks
After that kind of abuse I would not expect the bottom end of the engine to be in very good condition. Surprising it hasn't already seized up. Block and heads could be warped and/or cracked. Probably a low-miles junkyard engine would be the ticket if the rest of the car is in good shape and you want to keep it going.
